Safety Advisor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team. As a Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining PGTs safety program to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This is a critical role in our organization, and we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and committed to promoting a culture of safety.

Duties:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions, WCB claim management
- Develop and deliver new employee orientation and employee file management i.e. Pulling Driver’s license, passport, abstracts
- Participate in H&S committee meetings and RPM Audits
- Monitor workplace conditions to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures
- Maintain safety records and perform administrative and record keeping functions and procedures with an emphasis on confidentiality
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirement.

Experience:
- Proven experience as a Safety Advisor or similar role in the transportation industry
- Knowledge of federal safety regulations and RPM Audits
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational/communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
