We are currently looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join our Information Technology (IT) team. This role is based out of our Winkler branch, with travel to our branch network.

What will you be doing?
The Desktop Support Technician acts as the support between end users and the computer environments. Responsibilities include network maintenance; computer software and hardware installation; problem identification, resolution and reporting; information integrity and security; and the interpretation of user documentation and procedures. Timely and efficient management of issues including the evaluation, prioritization, escalation, resolution and tracking of issues from employee requests for assistance. 

Key Responsibilities:
• Install technology and security related equipment and software.
• Provide support and basic training to employees on the use of applications.
• Install, maintain and provide troubleshooting support for organizational technical, security and communication systems and programs.
• Resolve end-user IT incidents, such as password reset, software questions, PC hardware problems, Internet connectivity, configurations etc.
• Provide one-on-one end-user support and problem resolution by phone, e-mail, and other vehicles of communication.
• Identify trends and trouble spots to conduct proactive maintenance or repairs.
• Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Implement technical changes with the least disruption to the organization.

What do you need?
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent  
• Valid class 5 Manitoba Driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Post-secondary education in Information Technology 
• CompTIA A+ 
• MCP or MCSE certifications 
• Cisco CCNA or equivalent 
• Minimum two years of direct work experience in an IT support capacity 
• Ability to diagnose problems, perform repairs on IT assets, and provide support for a wide range of applications 
• Able to quickly analyze issues and determine best course of action using available resources 
• Sound judgment to escalate issues to senior members within the IT organization 
• Knowledge of IT management software tools 
• High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
