As the Technologist 2, Regional Systems, you will perform operation and maintenance work, laboratory and field testing, meter reading and prepares required operational, maintenance, regulatory and status reports within an assigned regional water and wastewater system. The regional water and wastewater system may include SaskWater or customer owned water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution/transmission and wastewater collection systems.

To qualify, you will have a two-year technical diploma; a Water Resources Engineering Technology diploma is preferred. Eligibility for certification as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.) or Certified Technician (C.Tech) is required. A Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required. A combination of experience and mechanical aptitude may be considered.

Certification at the appropriate levels in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment is required to be obtained in accordance with the Operator Certification Board requirements or existing industry reciprocity agreements.

In addition to the above qualifications, the job requires 1.5 years of progressively more responsible experience in the following areas:
• Working knowledge of water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment operation, maintenance and troubleshooting processes and procedures.

Special Requirements: The position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Record Check and Drug and Alcohol test. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license is required.
