Position Overview
We are expanding our estimating team at Imperial Metal and are looking for a 100% in-house Construction Estimator. The ideal candidate will have a wide understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects according to internal processes and data.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Estimates for Steel Construction and Miscellaneous Metal Fabrication
- Perform Material and Labour Takeoffs Using BlueBeam
- Review and Manage Construction Documents for Incoming Bid Requests
- Assist Project Team with Creating Cost Reports and Labour Hour Projections
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal and Written
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills
- The Ability to Work Under Pressure
- 2+ years of Experience Performing Construction Takeoffs
- Proven Experience in Steel Construction
- Ability to Reading Construction Drawings and Specifications
- Intermediate Experience Using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Experience Using Takeoff Software (Bluebeam, Planswift, Other)
