Fleet and Purchasing Coordinator

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Term: Full Time Permanent

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, as the Fleet Coordinator you will direct the acquisition, management, and disposition of the vehicle fleet in support of operational activities using a life-cycle management methodology. Your role will also include general purchasing functions, short and long term strategies to leverage buying power in all aspects of the business, including insurance and fleet management.

Duties may include the following:

Manage the fleet to ensure optimum pricing and age balance of fleet components.
Closely engage with internal customers in all core geographies regarding key needs for Farmers Edge operations.
Works to keep fleet size adequate while assuring desired availability of vehicles to users.
Provides input into the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and standards related to transportation regulatory compliance and transportation safety requirements.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure safety, risk and compliance requirements are met.
Review and enhance all processes and procedures relevant to fleet processes and procedures.
Coordinates the management of national transportation contracts.
Assist in vehicle acquisition activities.
Perform vehicle registration, insurance, and other documentation regarding fleet vehicles.
Responsible to ensure vehicle and equipment up-fitting is complete as per driver requirements.
Perform all centralized purchasing functions for the business, for all general materials, equipment, and contracts.
Review and assess quotes, negotiate prices, discounts, and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers; generate documentation to justify supplier selection.
Establish and maintain delivery schedules, monitor progress, and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve problems
Manage and administrate Supplier until completion of Purchase Order deliverables.
Maintain Purchase Order file complete with all relevant and supporting documentation.
Develop existing and new Suppliers to meet and exceed project requirements.
Evaluate and address with Suppliers any areas of Non-Conformance or inadequacy as related, but not limited to, Quality, Warranty, Technical, Schedule and Cost.
Ensure Supplier performance is maintained at a satisfactory level.
Study market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials and communicates with the team.
Takes a leadership role when dealing with vendors, customers, and staff to accomplish department objectives.
Recommend business improvements and growth opportunity through strategic sourcing.
Contain and reduce fleet and other costs, review monthly expenditures, and investigate discrepancies.
Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met.
Drive operational excellence and best practices with the aim to reduce cost every year.

Education, Experience, Critical Knowledge & Skills:

Two to Five years' experience in Fleet Coordination.
Experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
Experience in the agriculture industry preferred.
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task under tight timelines;
Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to work with others as team player;
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills;
Excellent communication and presentation skills;
Creative and innovative thinking skills;
Strong negotiation skills;
Computer skills - Microsoft Office;
Supply Chain Management or Business related degree.
