Sport for Life Cochrane was created in 2009, inspired by the Canadian Sport for Life/Long Term Athlete Development model (www.canadiansportforlife.ca). A small group of Cochrane residents began to explore how Sport for Life Cochrane could assist and support local sport, recreation groups and the community at large to ensure opportunities to participate in the right activities at the right time, with the right leaders exists for all Cochrane and area residents (youth in particular).
