Description:
Grand Council Treaty #3 is the traditional government of the Anishinaabe nation that entered into Treaty No. 3 in 1873. The geographical area of the nation is 55,000 square miles which includes 26 First Nations in Northwestern Ontario and 2 in Eastern Manitoba with an overall population of approximately 25,000. Its mandate is to preserve, enhance, protect and implement inherent and treaty rights.
