We are looking to employ an experienced seamstress/tailor to mend and alter Pioneer Co-op Family Fashions garments according to customers' needs. The seamstress's/ tailors responsibilities include replacing buttons, zippers, pockets, and linings, and modifying garment styles and fit based on customers needs. You should also be able to estimate the cost of altering garments, taking into account the amount of time and materials required.
To be successful, you should demonstrate sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques and machines. Ultimately, an outstanding seamstress/ tailor should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Altering or repairing customers' garments and other articles, which includes hemming, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams. Accurately measuring customers using tape measures to ensure proper fit.
Fitting garments on customers to determine the alterations requirements and accurately labeling/ pinning articles. Accurately recording the alterations required, and creating invoices based on the work and time needed to complete the alteration. Communicating well with customers to determine their specifications, needs, and preferences. Using irons and steamers to erase the creases on garments and other articles. Ensuring that all sewing equipment is maintained in good working order.
Proven sewing experience.
Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.

The ability to safely use different types of sewing machines.
