Facility Maintenance Worker

As part of the Community and Leisure Services Department, the City of Humboldt is currently seeking to fill 2 permanent, full-time Facility Maintenance Worker positions.

Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Manager or Parks Supervisor, the primary responsibilities are located within the arena and parks operations. This position is responsible for all aspects of ice maintenance and cleaning within the arena. It is also responsible for assisting with a wide range of tasks in the parks department including, but not limited to grass cutting, watering, tree maintenance, as well as trail and sports field maintenance. The position will also assist other departments for set-up and take-down of events and activities within the Uniplex and parks.

• Refrigeration Operation Certificate
• First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Valid Class 5 Divers License.
• Arena Operators Certificate.
• Grade 12 or GED.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
• Pesticide Applicator Certificate is preferred.
• Turf Maintenance and Irrigation Certificate is preferred.
• Certificate or Diploma in Recreation Facility Maintenance is preferred.
• Certificate or Diploma in Small Engineer Repair is preferred.
• Horticultural Certificate is preferred.
• Tree Care Qualifications is preferred.

This is an in-scope (union) position with a starting wage of $23.95/hour (2022 rate).
