Human Resources Director

As a proven HR leader, you bring solid HR experience, well-developed business acumen, and understand the importance of balancing both to achieve the goals and strategy for the overall business. Your track record demonstrates that you understand the importance of providing an exceptional employee experience, along with strong communication and relationship skills, that lend well to building solid partnerships amongst the HR team, with all levels of leadership, and overall company of 700+ team members. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources you will participate as a member of the Business Leadership Committee, mentor and lead a team of HR professionals, and play a key role in developing and executing on the HR strategy to support the overall business. This role is primarily on-site however, flexibility allowing some work from home is available.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to support the development, growth and performance of HR team members.
  • Collaborate with leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, succession planning and retention.
  • Oversee and contribute to the execution of our HR Strategy by developing / executing strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and lead various areas of human resources which may include, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and disability management; coaching and disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance, talent management and succession planning; engagement and recognition; recruitment and immigration processes; and training and development.
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Develop and maintain HR Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Action Plans. - Conduct data-driven analysis of trends and pro-actively understand and address areas of need, such as employee turnover, benefits, wellness, compensation, etc.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the HR department.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the HR department.
  • Other projects and initiatives as required.

What You Bring:

  • Post-Secondary Education in related field or combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • CPHR designation is preferred; commitment to working toward CPHR designation will be considered
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience encompassing a wide range of areas
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven success in coaching and mentoring a team
  • Effective communication skills both written, verbal and comfort with public speaking, networking and conducting presentations
  • Ability to diagnose and successfully handle complex employee relations and organizational development issues
  • Strong knowledge of all relevant employment laws and regulations
  • Well-developed computer and technology skills (Excel, Word, PPT, HRIS – UKG or other)
  • Ability to motivate, inspire confidence, produce quality work within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage projects
  • Creative and resourceful “out of the box” thinker, focused on continuous learning and consistently delivers results including continuous improvement ideas /solutions
  • Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret various data
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, ever-changing environment
