The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects under mentorship with the Senior Project Manager. The position's main duties are to ensure the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish through clear communication to all parties involved. The Project Manager will handle multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and is open to constant changes and challenges. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once in the absence of day-to-day guidance.


  • Responsible for project management of single stream projects. Including, defining project scope, goals, timelines and deliverables
  • Leads a team through the project life cycle by planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking a project plan and providing clear direction and motivation to the project team.
  • Defines and assigns tasks and required resources for each project
  • Manage and coordinate priorities, project plans and terms of reference/project charters for corporate initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams for scheduling meetings, project execution and determining requirements
  • Facilitate business, IT and functional requirements definition, translate project goals, scope of work, timelines and priority of tasks and communicate to the organization
  • Provide regular status of projects and address issues/concerns when appropriate.
  • Review progress and report on outcome of all initiatives, including post implementation reviews.
  • Collaborate with OCM lead to manage change
  • Proactively identify roadblocks and risks and work with the Senior Project Manager in developing a risk mitigation plan.
  • Prepare & present reports for clients and internal management regarding project status and escalate as needed
  • Develop and manage detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates and resource plans in conjunction with project team members and other involved business and IT teams
  • Document project scope, goals, and deliverables (completion of project charter and other project related paperwork)
  • Ensure all project documentation is created, reviewed, and maintained to industry standards and filed in appropriate projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams for scheduling meetings, project execution and determining requirements
  • Set meetings and communication cadence with the team – schedule regular touchpoints with the team and work with the Communications manager / CM lead to tailor communication and training initiatives.
  • When working with Senior Project Manager on a project, consult with Senior Project Manager on task assignments
  • Work with the Assistant Project Manager to assign project tasks and ensure that required resources are entered in the PM software.
  • Maintain the project software for changes to scope, schedule, budget or resources
  • Timely entry of all projects related tasks
  • Work with Senior Project Manager to define and document tasks and required resources and enter the PM software
  • Prepare reports for the Senior project manager (PM) as needed
  • Responsible for documenting meeting notes, saving recordings to teams, and ensuring action items are documented.
  • Manages and maintain project budgets by setting expectations with team and client on budget availability, raise your hand when the budget is at risk and proactively propose next steps to manage budget risk.


  • Post-Secondary degree in Business, related discipline or relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools is considered an asset. Insurance experience is considered an asset.
  • LEAN or OCM certification/designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience leading or participating in requirements gathering activities.
  • General understanding of project management methods and processes with the ability to apply them to projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presenter and facilitator skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, planning and task prioritization ability
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Strong relationship building and team skills with the ability to build rapport with a wide variety of people across the organization.
  • A high degree of personal ethics, integrity, and responsibility with an ability to deal with sensitive issues and safeguard confidential information.
