Foreman

The Rural Municipality of Whiska Creek No. 106 is located in Southwest Saskatchewan with the municipal shop located in Pambrun, Saskatchewan and the office in the Village of Vanguard. The municipality has a population of 512 and within its boundaries the Village of Vanguard (population of 184) and the Village of Neville (population 88). Both small communities provide a great place to live with the larger of the two possessing recreational facilities, a Co-op Store, insurance agent and liquor vendor, abattoir, as well as a K – 12 school, public library etc. The RM offers an appealing salary package ($85,000 - $95,000 depending on experience) including pension, health and dental benefits, disability insurance and vision care.

The RM is seeking an interested individual with previous foreman experience to fill the role. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Employee Management - Leading and empowering a team of 3 (seasonal
and year-round) employees with positive influence and respect
- Scheduling workload to maximize efficiency and productivity while
maintaining a high standard of work and work ethic
- Advocate workplace safety with an end goal of seeking and establishing
best practices
- Manage municipal projects and coordinate the day-to-day responsibilities
for those projects
- Oversee all repairs and upkeep of municipal machinery
- Manage and provide training, performance evaluations and guidance
- Record keeping regarding operations, expenses, ordering and inventory
- Working with the administration on budgeting, asset management, and
providing information for grant applications
- Providing a monthly report to the Council as well as input to the Council on
road projects, gravel, and capital purchases

The ideal candidate will have:
- The desire to be a great team leader
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- A valid Class 5 drivers license
- Extensive road maintenance knowledge and experience
- Road building knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of operating and servicing various pieces of equipment such as
graders, tractors, mowers, mulcher, sprayer, rock picker etc.
- Basic computer knowledge
- Be willing to obtain all necessary safety course as well as an Industrial
Pesticide Applicator License
