We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Director of Planning & Engineering to join our team. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The Director of Planning & Engineering manages the Planning and Engineering Department that includes a team of designers and drafters. This department is responsible for all aspects of the Outside the Plant Network (OSP). This includes the OSP network design, construction, and modification of the Valley Fiber network. The Planning and Engineering Department works closely with Production to ensure the construction process and provide network details to help service customers.

What You'll Do:
• Manage the Planning and Engineering Department and provide leadership
to the team for coaching, delegating tasks and ensuring high performance
• Provide direction for design and drafting efforts in coordination with the
directives
• Provide civil and structural engineering oversight for towers & RCO’s
• Provide oversight for waterway, pipeline, and railway crossing designs
• Contract administration services during construction (prepping contracts,
tracking invoices, making change orders and contractor quotation reviews)
• Review processes and implement department procedures and strategies
• Communicate with RM personnel during planning stage of each project
• Ensure all permitting and agreements are in place prior to construction

Who You Are:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is an asset
• Previous experience in management, construction, and contract
administration
• Proficiency with MS Office suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS/GIS software is required
• Understanding of municipal, technical and legal matters
• Experience in telecommunications would be a valuable asset
• Valid class 5 driver’s license is required
• Ability to lead a team effectively and provide
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated high level of professionalism
• Ability to multitask efficiently
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Working in a fast-paced office environment
• Ability to thrive under pressure, changing priorities and deadlines
• High level of organization
• Efficient time and project management skills
• Ability to collaborate as a team player and work independently
