• 1.0 FTE - 25% Vice Principal and 75% Senior Years Teacher
Morden Collegiate Institute, in Western School Division, is looking to fill the position of Vice Principal/Senior Years Teacher.
The successful candidate will demonstrate abilities and successful experience as an instructional and educational leader, school-community facilitator, visionary, and data-informed problem solver. They will demonstrate an ability to manage within the cultural and educational context, including possessing experience with personnel management and budget and resource allocation. Excellent classroom management abilities, knowledge of assessment and evaluation, and demonstrated knowledge of Senior Years Philosophy are required. The successful candidate must present themselves professionally and demonstrate the ability to function as part of a team and work collaboratively with teaching colleagues. We are looking for teachers committed to fostering deeper thinking in our students, who are comfortable with inquiry and project-based learning.
The ideal candidate for this Vice-Principal position would:
• Demonstrate fluency in the French language with the ability to Support French Programming
• Possess a Certificate of School Leadership or a Level 1 – School Administrator’s Certificate,
• Have completed or be in the process of completing a Master of Education Degree in administration or curriculum
• Have experience in curriculum development and implementation
• Have a demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation
• Demonstrate superior communication and interpersonal skills
Possession of a valid Manitoba teaching certificate or the ability to obtain such is required.
A condition of employment with the Western School Division is a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check, and an agreement by the applicant to disclose criminal record and/or Abuse Registry record information to the Division.
