Yard Person (Labourer / Swamper)

This entry level role of Yard Labourer performing various manual labour tasks to support the movement of pipe and other materials within the yard. This position works alongside equipment operators to load/unload pipe from trucks. Effective communication on radio devices is essential.

Please note: Tenaris requires all employees to pass a drug and alcohol test as well as fit test, prior to employment. Ability to work varied hours and a rotational on-call schedule is a requirement for this position

Role and Responsibilities

· Work alongside Equipment Operators to load/unload pipe product to/from trucks
· Use power and manual tools to create blocking on wood lengths to be placed in-between tiers of pipes
· Use handheld devices to scan each piece of incoming/outgoing pipe
· Spot for equipment operator and use cones to setup safe work area
· Perform other material handling activities such as counting, sorting, packing and unpacking
· Actively participate in company safety meetings, procedures and programs; correct unsafe work practices or situations; follow reporting protocols for violations; participate in the Hazard Identification process
· Perform other duties as required, including, but not limited to effective yard and warehouse clean-up, yard maintenance, administrative duties and operating company vehicle as required

Experience / Training

· Manual labor work experience in an industrial setting
· Class 5 Driver’s License, required

Skills

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day; ability to walk / stand for duration of shift
· Comfortable working outside for long durations in varied weather conditions
· Punctual, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours including varied shifts, overtime, on-call and weekends
