Shop Foreman/Woman

Right Choice Energy Services Inc. (RCESI) is currently accepting applications for an experienced Shop Foreman/Woman. Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Shop Foreman will be responsible for ensuring the safe and quality execution of all piping and structural activities. The Shop Foreman will be required to provide direction, supervision and mentorship to piping and structural personnel and will be accountable for adherence to all aspects of RCESI’s Safety Management System, Quality Control Program and core values at all times. The primary shift for this position is Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:00pm, but availability in the evenings and/or weekends may be required, depending on business needs.
Shop Foreman duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Overseeing the day to day operations in the shop, and ensuring efficient and effective work processes are in place and adhered to
• Organizing and scheduling manpower and equipment requirements with Field Supervisors and Management as required, including assisting with the submission of daily timesheets
• Assigning work tasks to RCESI personnel
• Assist in preparing quotations at time of bid, primarily quoting shop hours and process when required
• Correctly understanding engineering and shop drawings and directing work as required to eliminate errors and rework
• Coaching and mentoring of shop personnel including assisting in the completion of performance reviews, competency reviews, providing regular feedback and encouraging learning and development by all team members.
• Ensuring strict adherence to all RCESI Safety protocols and program requirements at all times
• Ensuring strict adherence to all RCESI Quality Control protocols and program requirements at all times
• Developing a strong understanding of client specifications and how they relate to execution of both piping and structural activities

• Overseeing and monitoring mezzanine inventory levels and assisting with ordering as required
• Maintaining a clean work area and facility
• Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, skills, experience, and qualifications:

• 10+ years’ experience in structural fabrication and machining
• 5+ years of supervisory/foreman experience preferred
• Journeyperson certificate in Welding with valid SMAW, FCAW and MCAW tickets
• Experience with SMAW, GTAW & FCAW/MCAW weld processes
• Experience with welding various types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (Carbon Steel, Stainless, Alum, Duplex)
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
• Experience with shop fabrication equipment including brakes, sheers, presses, etc would be an asset
• Competence in reading engineering drawings, and understanding of weld procedures/processes
• Ability to efficiently plan work and communicate plans to all impacted stakeholders
• Ability to work professionally with Client Representatives at all times
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to successfully deal with conflict
• Capable of demonstrating worksite mobility including but not limited to: standing, walking, lifting and climbing
• Must be willing to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Ability to effectively and efficiently supervise up to 10 employees
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, required
