Mechanic (Multiple Positions)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

For the past 40 years, Nutri-Pea has specialized in the manufacture of food-grade protein isolates, starches and fibers. Headquartered in the Canadian Prairies, we are proud to provide our partners with high-quality functional food ingredients derived from yellow peas grown right here in Canada.

As part of the maintenance team the Mechanic will be responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment according to PM schedule
• Aid in completion of work orders submitted to the Maintenance Department
• Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on
equipment
• Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
• Aid in equipment installation
• Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient
and safe operation
• Aid in trouble shooting of facility’s CCP
• Maintaining a clean workplace after work is complete
• Complete all paperwork as required
• Work with contractors as required
• Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, provincial
and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications
• Perform other duties as required

FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow GMP and SQF Practices

SKILLS REQUIRED (INCLUDE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PROFICIENCY):

• Certified Journeyman Millwright, will consider qualified apprentice
• International Certification combined with relevant experience will be
considered
• Previous experience is considered an asset
• Complete company required Food Safety and Quality Training
• Participate in all required Health and Safety Training
• Subject to a clear Criminal Records Check

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
