Summary:
Working with the Shop Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and repairing all types of heavy equipment: excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, loaders, etc.

Job Duties Responsibilities:
• Perform preventative services checks and maintenance
• Facilitate safety inspections
• Assess equipment to see if they need to be sent elsewhere for repair
• Report faults and malfunctions on all company equipment
• Coordinate with Shop Foreman to determine priorities for equipment repair
• Maintain required safeties on heavy equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• 2+ years’ experience as a mechanic is required
• Must have a valid driver’s license, Class 1 or 3 is considered an asset
• Experience with heavy equipment is an asset
• Willing and able to work out-of-town/province for service calls
• Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; standing, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Safety-first attitude
• Provide: must have own tools, hard hat, high visibility vest, CSA approved steel-toed safety boots/shoes
