Project Coordinator

The successful candidate will be responsible for projects as well as the duties and responsibilities listed in the job description. The projects are small/mid size that will require a quick response to ensure a smooth flow of the projects. There could be multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain budgets and cost management projections.
Communicate with Consultants, Trades, Superintendent and employees.
Coordination of document control (submittals, construction documents)
Develop project construction schedules and update during construction.
Overall responsibilities would include but are not limited to profitability, safety, quality, scheduling, communications, duty assignment, project budgeting and cost management.
Engage in planning and executing the work, interpret specifications, and coordinate the various scopes and phases of the work.
Attend project site meetings and sub-trade coordination meetings.
Coordinate with trades, suppliers and employees to resolve any issues that arise.
Understanding of Construction Management processes and procedures.
Work with PM through tendering process, awarding of contracts and purchase orders.
Some travel within Sask., MB and Northern Ontario
Skills & Knowledge:

Computer literate with a strong working knowledge of MS Office package and MS Project.
Knowledge of estimating, quantity takeoffs and tendering.
Ability to read/understand blueprints and specifications.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize and understand the sense of urgency required to maintain even flow of construction.
Must have strong moral values and be trustworthy.
Qualifications:

1 - 2 years minimum experience in construction industry.
Education as an Engineering Technologist or combination of education and industry experience.
Valid drivers license.
