Executive Director - New Daycare located in Oungre

Souris Valley Daycare Inc. (SVDC) is pleased to announce we are hiring for a full time Executive Director! Successful candidate of this brand-new position will assist with facility set up, oversee staff and manage day-to-day operations of the new childcare facility.

Located at 2 Souris Ave., in Oungre, Saskatchewan, SVDC serves families from Oungre and surrounding communities. Offering 20 child care spaces for children aged 12 months to 6 years of age (or the completion of kindergarten). Expected hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 7am - 6pm and tentative opening date is October 1, 2023.

This position will report to the SVDC Board of Directors. Successful candidate will demonstrate their experience and passion for working children. Compensation will be based on candidate's qualifications, prior experience and be in accordance with the Saskatchewan Learning and Childcare tier averages.

Job Description:
Administration
• Develop and implement facility procedures
• Work with bookkeeper to ensure completion of accurate monthly financial statements
• Assist in preparation of annual operating budget
• Research and apply for additional funding and grant opportunities
• Manage and purchase groceries, supplies, services and equipment as required
• Complete annual licensing requirements
Human Resources
• Recruit qualified staff members
• Provide guidance and assistance to staff members
• Arrange staff schedule and manage child to worker ratios
• Implement appropriate disciplinary action(s) as required
Program & Child Development
• Be a positive, professional and supportive role model
• Ensure overall safety and wellbeing of the children
• Supervise and guide daily activities
• Oversee the implementation of developmentally appropriate programming
Family and Board Relations
• Attend and report at all SVDC board meetings
• Act as a liaison between parents, staff and the board
• Communicate effectively with SVDC Board of Directors, informing of important issues
Other
• As required/necessary

Skills and Qualifications:
• ECE Level 3 qualification, or enrolled in classes to become a Level 3
• Criminal Record check and Vulnerable Sector check
• First Aid Certification, CPR Level C
• Food Safe Certification
• Positive, caring and compassionate attitude
• Excellent leadership qualities and effective verbal and written communication skills
