Work Location: 20 Bermondsey Road, Unit 108, East York, Toronto, ON, M4B 1Z5 and other locations in Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Vaughan (Toronto Region), and Ajax depending on our clients' needs

Job Duties:

Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems

Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems

Instruct apprentices

Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors

Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings

Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment

Schedule personnel, tools and equipment

Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges

Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing

Supervise other workers

Prepare tenders and quotations

Estimate costs and materials

Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size

Drive to and from job sites

May pick up materials from suppliers, and deliver the materials to job sites.

Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary school is required

Experience: The candidate must have the Trade Certification or be eligible to obtain it (Completion of a four-to five-year apprenticeship program OR a combination over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in plumbing is required to be eligible for trade certification)

Valid driver’s license is required to drive from and to job sites.

Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Hand-eye coordination, Work under pressure, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Large workload, Bending, crouching, kneeling.

Work Site Environment: Confined spaces, Wet/damp

Weight Handling: Up to 45kg (100lb)

Language: English is required

Salary: $35.00 hourly, 42.5 hours per week

Important Information: Work schedule will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday to Friday (including one 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two 15 minutes paid healthy breaks). Flexibility is required. Work on weekends and holidays may be required depending on the business needs.
