Manufacturing Technologist - Experienced in Continuous Improvement

Maverick Industries Ltd – Manufacturer of INTERSTEEL industrial waste & recycling containers is planning to expand the manufacturing team. We are currently looking to hire a Manufacturing Technologist experienced in continuous improvement. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the company
- Drive improvement in the production process to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery is met
- Create and drive workflow with the focus on reducing cost of goods sold and improving throughput
- Drive improvement in information and communications flow throughout the company - working with cross functional team to understand big picture aligning with future growth structure
- Establish production metrices/goals with production manager and have plans to execute
- Analyze production data, adjust and optimize for higher efficiency using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Facilitate and coach on efficient flow in communication, equipment, materials, people and product
- Plan for future expansion projects using 1-piece flow and lean techniques
- Identify wastes, implement improvement plans, and execute
- Implement preventive maintenance program to minimize unexpected downtime
- Create standardized work procedures and train accordingly
- Audit SOP’s on a weekly/monthly basis - creating improvements where needed
- Work with the Senior Management Team and central functions to deliver service excellence, and assess operational performance against required KPI's

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in manufacturing/engineering or equivalent training
- Experienced in continuous improvement methodology (Lean Mfg / Six Sigma)
- Excellent presentation, organization and problem-solving skills
- Prior management or manufacturing experience is an asset
- Effective communication and organizational skills - proficiency in English
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills and ability to drive cross-functional team
- Technical competencies in manufacturing (e.g. technical drawings, blueprints, CAD/CAM)
- Proficiency in Google, Microsoft, and other industry software

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
