JOB DETAILS
Salary: $18.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Languages: English

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma – Baking Training Certificate

Experience: Experience an asset

Work setting: Supermarket or bakery department

Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:
• Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
• Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies.
• Bake mixed dough and batters.
• Prepare special orders.
• Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
• Draw up production schedules.
• Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas.
• Operate machinery.
• Organize and maintain inventory.
• Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION
Food specialties: Breads and rolls, Desserts and pastries

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Tight deadlines, Work under pressure
