Qualifications
** Education and Training:**
- High school diploma an asset
- Training in digital marketing an asset
- Training in social media marketing an asset
- An interest in Mennonite History an asset

Experience:
- Experience in digital marketing preferred
- Experience in social media marketing preferred

Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to be organized and work independently.
- Demonstrated photography and digital media skills.
- Basic skills in video development and planning
- A demonstrated creative approach to problem solving
- Good communication skills in the English Language

Position Overview
The position of Communications Office Assistant will assist the Development Coordinator the ongoing implementation and creation of various digital projects at MHV. This role will aid in social media management, production, and creation, as well as digitizing and media preservation and related projects. This will involvel collaboration with the Development Coordinator to further enhance communications between the museum and the public, ensuring a positive visitor experience through producing an ongoing social media campaign to promote summer events and exhibits, while learning and applying perspectives tied to Mennonite culture and history to media campaigns. The Communications Office Assistant will require some weekends to document special events. This is a full-time position from May 6th to August 23rd (37.5 hours per week).

Responsibilities
Deliverable 1 – Archive Digitization

Responsibilities:
- Digitize Photos and Documents related to MHV history
- Sort archives and prioritize important documents.
- Manage media database using organizational practices.
- Coordinate with staff and volunteers to identify locations and individuals in archived photos.
- Collaborate with Assistant Curator to support Musetoba archive photography.

Deliverable 2 – Social Media Management

Responsibilities
- Together with Development Coordinator, plan schedule of social media assets.
- Create engaging social media posts.
- Interact with visitors through social media.
- Assist in developing content for media communication strategy to be used on website, radio and in other media.

Deliverable 3 – Create Digital Media Assets

Responsibilities
- Photograph and Video activities/events/programs happening at MHV.
- Ensure that privacy policy is followed.
- Ensure permissions for photo releases are managed in creating digital assets for the village.
- Assist in developing promotional media for special events and manage event calendar.

Deliverable 4 – Support the MHV Team

Responsibilities
- Be available to provide support to festival events as needed
- Be prepared to interact with visitors at the MHV in a positive manner
- Be available to do other tasks as assigned
