Summer Student Supervisor Position

Rat River Recreation Commission is now accepting applications to fill a full-time seasonal position of “Summer Recreation Supervisor” to start approximately in June until the end of August or early September 2024.
Reporting to the Recreation and Wellness Facilitator and Admin, the Summer Recreation Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of the Rat River Recreation Commission’s summer activities and programs.

Tasks and Responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordination, and implementation of summer activities and programs
- Supervision of children, ensuring engagement and safety of children
- Follow and implement safety guidelines and emergency procedures associated with activities being run
- Review and Manage Inventory
- Cleaning of facility and supplies
- Communication with Recreation and Wellness Facilitator and Assistant, as well as parents and/or guardians where appropriate/as required
- Healthy ability to participate in games, crafts, and sports where required
- Leadership & guidance
- Administrative and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Post Secondary Student
- Have a valid driver’s license, as the job requires travel between communities in our area.
- Experience working as part of a team
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Must hold or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification
- Knowledge in Sports, Arts and Crafts considered an asset
- Ability to communicate in English and French an asset
- All hiring will be conditional upon completion of satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
