TEAM MEMBER

A Team Member at the Unger Group of Companies is responsible to move, load and unload materials and products by hand or using a forklift. The applicant will use machines to ensure safe feed and product handling is performed daily. Employees working in this role are responsible for maintaining safety and organization in the feed warehouse and follow current feed safety regulations and company standards.

Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work without supervision in a fast-paced work environment as well as an ability to project positivity and adaptability in the organization while working in a demanding role is imperative to the success of this position.

SHIPPING & RECEIVING
• Operate forklift, tractor or other equipment to load, unload, sort, transport and store feed and products
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse
• Unload feed using an auger into grain bins
• Move feed bins and tote bags onto trucks
• Fill, transfer and weigh feed bags and barrels and ensure there is ample containers filled
• Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually, pack goods and prepare and attach identifying information
• Operate tractors, loaders and other equipment to transport products to and from transportation vehicles, loading area and to store and retrieve materials in the warehouse
• Load feed onto customer vehicles using a forklift
• Operate equipment to transfer feed from grain truck to feed bins and ensue they are kept full
• Operate equipment to transfer feed from transportation vehicles to elevators and bins
• Bag and label feed products and barrels for customers
• Ship and receive materials, supplies and product by loading and unloading feed pallets onto and off of trucks
• Prepare way slips, invoices and other shipping documents manually
• Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and notify feed store manager of shortages, incorrect product and damaged goods
• Maintain internal record-keeping including manual and computerized systems to track number of bags of feed packaged, product received, etc.
• Sign off on orders and invoices received
• Recommend and advise retail customers on appropriate use of various feed and the benefits
• Place orders to replenish product as needed
• Prepare barrels for sale

REQUIREMENTS
• Mature individual - over 16 years old
• Previous experience as a machine/equipment operator an asset
