Kitchen Coordinator

Avonlea Community Early Learning Center Inc. is a new daycare planning to open our doors in May, we will fill our building with 26 licensed spaces for children between the ages of 1-12.
ACELC’s Kitchen Coordinator is a part time position. The daily hours will be 8:30am-12:30pm Monday-Friday. This position has potential for additional working hours if the employee wishes to work on the floor with the children when the demand is present. This could develop into a full time hybrid position for the right candidate.

Kitchen Coordinator Responsibilities: ______________________________________________________________
The job duties and responsibilities of the Kitchen Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:

-Work alongside the Center Director to create healthy, nutritious kid friendly menus
-Be aware of food within the Center, and order foods necessary for the weekly menu
-Prepare & deliver morning snack & lunch to all the childcare rooms
-Prepare afternoon snack
-Keep the kitchen area clean and sanitized daily
-Load & unload the dishwasher daily
-Occasionally pick up groceries from the grocery store

Minimum Qualifications:

Canadian/permanent resident
18 Years of age or older
Certificate in Safe Food Handling
Ability to create Nutritious, kid friendly meals
Certificate in CPR & First Aid (or willingness to attain)
Satisfactory Criminal Records & Vulnerable Sector Check

What we offer:

Wages: Hourly wage band negotiable based on education & experience
Cook / Childcare Assistant (no schooling) -$15.00 - $17.50
ECE Level I - $19.50 - $20.06
ECE Level II- $21.50 - $24.99
ECE Level III- $23.00 - $ 26.49

Full Time employees have comprehensive health benefits and 3 weeks vacation
Part Time employees have prorated vacation pay
