Construction Shipper/Receiver- Chestermere

The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for ensuring accurate and seamless packing and shipping of construction-related materials and receiving incoming orders. The Shipper / Receiver must load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use related equipment. The Shipper/Receiver must understand the impact of this position to other department that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of outgoing and incoming items. Inventory management is essential function for this position.

Your contributions to the team:

Use mechanical and power vehicles (forklifts/pallet jacks to load and unload goods safely)
Pack goods to be shipped and attach packing slips (identifying information/shipping instructions)
Match packing slips with SPD purchase order and work with fleet on fuel monitoring
Inspect and count received goods, check against invoices or other documents, record shortages, reject damaged goods and notify Site Superintendent and Site Administrator of any discrepancies
Unpack and store goods in the appropriate storage areas
Prepare appropriate shipping inventory documents and trace lost shipments as needed
Work with Site Administrator to prepare, complete, sign, document, collect, match and forward bills of lading, pro bills, packing slips, receiving tallies, picking tickets etc. to RRL, and/or SPD Head Office Accounting for processing
Keep warehouse organized and clean. Manage site inventory and waste, including Sea Cans
Follows all safety policies including wearing appropriate safety attire at all time
When Shipper/Receiver is not performing specific duties related to their role, it is expected they will help with labour activities on site.

What you need to be successful:

1+ years of shipper/receiver experience preferred
Lumber and construction knowledge an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge in computer, MS Office specifically Excel
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Valid drivers’ license with driver’s abstract and reliable vehicle. class 3 would be an asset
Forklift/Zoom boom ticket required (potential for training for the right candidate)
