Summer Admin Assistant

The Morden Corn & Apple Festival Inc. is currently accepting resumes for a summer administrative assistant position which will run from May 20 to September 6. The position is for 35 hours per week for 16 weeks, and per the guidelines of the Canada Summer Jobs program is available to individuals ages 18 - 30.

The main duty of this position is to work with the Festival executive director and volunteers to plan and execute Morden’s annual signature community event.

In order to plan the Festival, this job includes office duties such as answering the phone, responding to email, and greeting visitors, in addition to other duties such as working to organize Festival street space, attending one evening meeting per month and taking minutes, assisting the many vendors of the Festival, and being on-hand during the Festival.

Applicants must have great communication and organizational skills in order to successfully aid in the planning of the Festival. Computer skills (email, Word, Excel, Google Sheets, etc) are necessary as well. This position involves a decent amount of individual work, so the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are vital.
