Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee the day-to-day culinary operations of our Mexican and Western-style restaurant. The ideal candidate will be a culinary innovator, dedicated to ensuring top-notch food quality, and capable of managing a busy kitchen to deliver exceptional dishes to our guests.

Responsibilities:

·Menu Development: Collaborate with the executive chef and management to create, update, and refine menus that showcase the fusion of Mexican and Western-style cuisines, ensuring a balance of traditional and innovative dishes.
·Kitchen Management: Supervise and coordinate the kitchen staff, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring a smooth workflow, maintaining cleanliness, and promoting efficiency in a high-paced kitchen environment.
·Food Preparation: Lead and participate in the preparation and presentation of all dishes, setting high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency in alignment with the restaurant's culinary vision.
·Ingredient Sourcing: Manage inventory, procure top-quality ingredients, and cultivate relationships with suppliers to ensure the freshness and availability of required products.
·Cost Control: Work within budgetary constraints for food costs, labor expenses, and kitchen supplies, while monitoring food waste and implementing cost-effective practices.
·Health and Safety: Enforce strict hygiene and safety protocols in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health department regulations and maintaining a safe working environment for all kitchen staff.
·Menu Costing: Analyze the cost of each dish, create portion sizes, and provide input on menu pricing to maintain profitability while preserving the quality of the dining experience.
·Innovation: Keep abreast of culinary trends and techniques, experimenting with new ingredients, and exploring creative cooking methods to continuously enhance the menu and delight guests.
·Quality Assurance: Regularly inspect kitchen equipment and facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, promptly addressing maintenance or repair needs as necessary.
·Guest Experience: Interact with guests, address special dietary requirements or concerns, and maintain an open and engaging kitchen atmosphere to contribute to a memorable dining experience.

Requirements:

·Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-quality restaurant.
·Strong knowledge of Mexican and Western-style cuisine, with a passion for these flavors and the ability to execute them flawlessly.
·Culinary degrees or equivalent certifications are preferred.
·Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and inspire kitchen staff.
·Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and creativity.
·Exceptional organizational skills and time management.
·Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.
·An innovative approach to menu development and a willingness to experiment with new ingredients and cooking techniques.
·Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $24 - $30 per hour
