Field Support Technician

We have an upcoming opportunity in the Research and Development (R&D) Department as a Field Support Technician.

The purpose of the position is to resolve machine downtime and ensure customer satisfaction. Time will be spent both on product support work, and R&D. Product support duties include engaging with customers in field to address any small or large issues after the purchase of their product, provide training if required, and collect feedback whenever possible. R&D duties include repairing prototype equipment, fabricating parts, and working with test instrumentation and data collection equipment.

This position will require significant travel, up to 3 weeks in duration with a minimum of 1 week in between trips. Other duties will be performed at the factory when not traveling. Our goal is to have issues resolved within 24 hours.

In This Role You Will
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on equipment in the field
• Inspect/maintain R&D carts running in the field
• Support the Sales Demo Program (as needed)
• Assist with Dealer Technician Training
• Gather & document customer feedback

We’re Looking For
• Ability to work independently/minimal direct supervision
• Troubleshooting/mechanical aptitude
• Must have basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new computer programs
• Ability to travel for up to 3 weeks at a time
• Valid passport and ability to travel in the U.S.
• Experience in mechanics and/or welding
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work in harsh demanding environments including cold, snow, rain, mud, and extreme heat
