1.0 FTE Classroom Teacher commencing September 3, 2024.

This assignment is 0.4 FTE as a divisional Advanced Placement Teacher and 0.6 FTE as a classroom teacher. The Advanced Placement divisional teaching assignment will lead the development, implementation, and delivery of Advanced Placement English Language Arts courses for grades 10 – 12 students at Carman Collegiate, Miami School, Elm Creek School, St. Paul’s Collegiate, and St. Laurent School. The school based assignment at Institut Collégial St. Paul’s Collegiate will be middle and senior years English and Humanities.

Qualifications:
• Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
• Major in ELA
• Minimum of 5 years of English Language Arts teaching experience
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Experience and Abilities
• Demonstrated passion and experience for teaching and learning in Advanced Placement programs
• Demonstrated innovative approaches in program delivery that will meet the needs of all learners
• Demonstrated time management skills to handle the academic rigor and long-term planning required for Advanced Placement courses
• Training and recent successful experience teaching both literacy and numeracy knowledge and skills in a variety of curriculum areas at the applicable grade level.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.
• Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.
• Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices in order to improve learning outcomes for students.
• Experience, proficiency and understanding of applicable grade pedagogy and curriculum.
• Implement applicable grade outcome-based assessment and evaluation models.
• Knowledge/ability to implement student services support.
• Excellent organizational and classroom management.
• Work collaboratively and independently.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace is considered an asset.
