Broadband Maintenance Technician

What you’ll do:

• Maintenance, installation, and repair of Broadband infrastructure, as well as troubleshooting and repairing/replacing faulty cables/broadband electronics as required.
• Perform required work on both coaxial and fibre optic cables.
• Use advanced equipment to conduct signal leakage monitoring and broadband forward and reverse sweeps as required.
• Provide Westman customers with a positive experience regarding equipment and services.
• Perform all work in accordance with WCG policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
• Complete all duties of manhole work in accordance to policies.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Experience in installation and repair of electronics or networks is considered an asset.
• Experience with residential wiring or construction is considered an asset.
• Customer service experience is considered an asset.
• Valid certification in Basic Rescuer CPR and Emergency First Aid is an asset or must have the ability to be obtained.
• Must have no fear of heights and be able to carry 75 lbs.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license, with ability to travel.
• Must be willing to work shifts, to be on-call, and available for emergency service.
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
