Steel Erector

WS Steel is a Tier 1 OEM fabricator with a compliment of ~200 employees. We manufacture both high volume components and large-scale products/ projects across a wide range of industries. We are currently seeking a Controller to join our team!

Position Overview:
As a Steel Erector, you will work on job sites erecting steel structures for various projects reporting to Ironworks supervisor.

Duties:
- Work at heights as required
- Perform erection of structural, ornamental, and other miscellaneous metal work
- Offload, sort and prepare structural steel for erection
- Read blueprints and specifications to lay out work
- Read, understand, and follow instruction drawings and weld procedures

Qualifications:
- Self-starter who is compelled to take action in the workplace without prompting from supervisor
- Experience welding SMAW (Stick) preferred but no required.
- High School graduation. Training in a certified welding program an asset.
- CWB certificate, not required, but an asset.
- Prior site work experience an asset
- Takes safety as your number one priority
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a vehicle
- Flexibility to work in town, out of town, as well as overtime when required

- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs

- Significant standing, walking, bending.
- Effective verbal communication skills

Job Location: Steinbach, Manitoba (Head Office)
Hours per week:
40 hours- Monday to Friday; Dayshift - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
