Green Team - Grounds Maintenance - Oakville

The Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie is accepting applications for a Grounds Maintenance position in Oakville.

Under the direction of the Utility Operations Supervisor, the Grounds Maintenance crew member will perform the following duties:

1. Mowing grass with front-mount, tractor, and push mower;
2. Grass trimming with gasoline powered trimmer;
3. Landscaping and grass seeding;
4. Pruning trees; and
5. Any other duties required.

This position requires experience working with and operating tractors, mowers, and power tools. The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined, physically capable of performing the work, be able to take direction, and work unsupervised.

Eligibility: This position is funded through the Urban/Hometown Green Team Program. Applicants must be between ages 15–29.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Duration: June 3, 2024 - August 30, 2024 (approximately)

Wage: $17.00 per hour
