The Portage la Prairie Community Revitalization Corporation (PCRC) is seeking an enthusiastic team member between the ages of 15-30, to serve as the Community Organization Worker (Summer Student) for the program coordinators at PCRC. This role will be an 8-week term position at 35 hours a week at an hourly rate of $15.30. This position will be a balance between administrative support and frontline community engagement activities.
Specific duties:
• Assisting the Coordinators as needed.
• Support with planning events, projects and evaluating activities.
• Working with the program coordinators and community leaders to plan, develop and facilitate activities that are beneficial to the community.
• Assist with computer tasks such as email correspondence, meeting minutes, data entry and digital filing
• Create promotional materials for programming to be shared on social media
• Assist with program/projects such as covering reception, some light cleaning, filing and potential outside work

• Experience and knowledge of the Portage la Prairie community organizations
• Effective communication and planning skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• A desire to work with the community and improve their well-being
• Familiarity with the Windows platform and programs such as Microsoft Word or Excel an asset
• Familiarity with social media platforms an asset
• Experience with data entry and data collection an asset

(c) be legally entitled to work in Canada;
(d) be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and
regulations; and
*International Students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if there are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
