Job Purpose:
The job purpose of the Director of Sales & Purchasing is to strategically lead and oversee the sales and purchasing functions within the organization. The role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and managing purchasing activities to ensure the procurement of product aligns with the organization's goals. The Director of Sales & Purchasing is responsible for fostering strong relationships with clients, negotiating contracts, optimizing purchasing processes, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve overall business objectives. Additionally, the role involves analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring a balance between sales targets and cost-effective procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible to be a part of the senior leadership team;
• Responsible to meet the predetermined sales and purchasing targets in both quantity and product diversity;
• Responsible for developing and maintaining sales systems and associated processes;
• Responsible to develop, manage and maintain the accuracy and availability of the position report to increase the company's profitability;
• Responsible to arrange and attend promotional events and trade shows;
• Responsible to identify prospects, make effective sales calls, and promote the company’s products;
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the markets and activities of competitors, ensuring the company remains competitive;
• Responsible for the leadership, development, and training and education of the team members in the Sales and Purchasing Department;
• Responsible to comply and lead the sales and purchasing department regarding all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Human Resource policies and procedures;
• Complete other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sales and procurement in the grain or food manufacturing industry;
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and problem-solve;
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership role;
• Knowledge of BRCGS, or similar Food Safety program principles;
• Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and priorities;
• Demonstrated ability to lead and guide others;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively;
• Computer literate, organized, and detail-oriented;
• Ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally.

Employment:
• Full time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm;
• Hours may vary based on positional responsibilities.
