Class 1 Truck Driver

Slipstream Trucking Inc. offers a job opportunity for the long-distance Class 1 Truck Driver position. This full-time position involves long-distance travel and occasional weekends away from home, with the most weekends, and some weeknights spent at home.
The ideal candidate must possess a valid Class 1 driver's license, excellent driving skills, and a good knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations. In addition, the Driver will also be responsible for maintaining the vehicles in their care and promptly informing any maintenance needs to management.

Responsibilities:
• Perform daily pre-trips safety checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition before and after each trip,
• Transport doors and goods to designated locations safely and on time,
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation are in order before a trip,
• Adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations to avoid accidents or incidents,
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of vehicles under their care,
• Handle customer grievances and other issues professionally and timely,
• Report any incidents or accidents to the management immediately,
• Report management of maintenance needs promptly.

Required Skills:
• Valid Class 1 Truck Driver license with a clean driving record,
• Good knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and city routes,
• Able to operate various equipment on sites to unload,
• Work experience, excellent driving skills and the ability to navigate unknown routes fluently,
• Good verbal and written communication skills,
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and under pressure,
• Physical fitness: to lift heavy goods when necessary and be able to unload and reload on your own.

Preferred:
• Grade 12 diploma
• Proficient in English
• Equipment certification is an asset (forklift, farm tractor, telehandler, etc.)
• Equipment operation experience
