Job Description:
The Chamber Manager, under the indirect supervision of the President and Executive Board of Directors, performs the overall management and coordination of Chamber activities. A broad range of administrative and management knowledge and skill is required, including fiscal management and budgeting, organizational and project planning, public relations, community development, grant proposal writing and marketing. Communication and organizational skills are essential to effectively work with the media, volunteers, community groups and other agencies, and for the supervision of interns, project staff and volunteers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements and maintains standardized office procedures and administrative duties
- Maintains the financial affairs of the Chamber consistent with accounting, legal, government and Chamber standards
- Develops and maintains all legally required records and procedures in compliance with board policy
- Provide secretarial responsibilities at Executive, Board, committee and planning meetings as required
- Membership retention and recruitment
- Process membership renewals and new member registrations, member communications and correspondence
- Organization and co-ordination of annual events including the AGM & Business Awards Banquet, Kenora Home and Leisure Show, networking events and training initiatives
- Responsible for all communications to the membership and the public
- Develops and implements marketing strategies and advertising campaigns
- Supervises and trains Chamber staff
- Develops and implements procedures for all policy decisions made by the Board of Directors
- Work effectively with partnering organizations to provide education and resources for our members
- Manage the KDCC’s web-presence through enhancements to the website and social media
- Government relations

A degree or diploma from a recognized college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Accounting, Project Management, Commerce, Economic Development or equivalent.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of emerging technology, marketing, finance, proficiency in website management and social media
- Extensive computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point)
- Prior accounting experience and experience with accounts payable and receivable using bookkeeping software; i.e. Simply Accounting/Sage
- Substantial knowledge and experience of administration/secretarial practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Events management experience
- Proven time management, research and organizational skills
- Experience in event planning, project management, accounting, Adobe programs and WordPress
- Knowledge of governance of non-profit organizations and of the business community
- Fundraising experience
