Basic Functions:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Position Requirements:
• 8-10 years’ progressive experience in Pipeline/Facility Construction
• 1-3 years of direct management experience preferred
• Able to develop and meet project estimates and schedules
• Able to meet task deadlines and manage large or complex construction projects. Able to manage staff of geographically dispersed Pipeline and Facility Supervisors
• Able to read blueprints and review and devise cost estimates, schedules and develop comprehensive Tender packages
• Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and able to learn job specific custom software applications as required
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and direction to the Pipeline/Facility Supervisors and maintain close working relationships with internal and external clients, Safety, Business Development and Fleet Managers
• Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements
• Manage projects in a manner that assures safety, reliability, environmental and human impacts are mitigated while meeting the project goals (including but not limited to Schedule, Budget, Safety and overall Quality)
• Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources required
• Train Pipeline/Facility Supervisors to implement projects in the most expeditious cost-effective manner consistent with company Best Practices while demonstrating a high commitment to safety for themselves and others
• Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants
• Project cost control functions including managing the construction estimate at completion, tracking of team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
• Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings
• Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards
• Perform random inspections of construction sites
• Work with Human Resources to source additional manpower as required
• Ensure project documents are complete in accordance with company’s Turnover requirements
• Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to rise to disputes and claims
• Attend pre-job meetings with clients
• Provides expertise and act as a resource to the team on “how to” apply the tools, processes and practices to the given project
• Represent and promote corporate goals

Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am to 5pm with ability to take calls after hours.
