The Wakamow Valley Authority (WVA) was established in 1981 by an Act of the Saskatchewan Legislature and is responsible for the management of Wakamow Valley. WVA plays a vital role in operating and maintaining park facilities and natural areas while protecting the future use of the Moose Jaw River Valley.
Reporting to the WVA’s Board of Directors, the General Manager is responsible for the overall management of WVA. Responsibilities include budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, policy and planning recommendations, human resource management, grant applications, fund raising, community and public relations and liaison with municipal, provincial and federal government agencies on behalf of WVA.
This is a senior position suitable for a mature self-starter with a broad and diversified knowledge of management in a recreation/conservation environment with a proven ability to co-ordinate the implementation of projects and programs undertaken by the Authority. The Applicant must be able to work effectively with a wide range of people, NGOs and service clubs.
The successful candidate will have post-secondary education in a related field with a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience and proven administrative skills and the ability and experience to understand and commit to WVA goals of conservation, development and education.
All candidates must possess above average communication and public speaking skills.
