Type of Employment: Full time (35hrs/wk) position is open immediately

Rate of Pay per hour: $22.00
Closing Date: March 15th, 2019
Term of Employment: 24 months

The Youth Employment Career Coach is an expert in social media platforms which are utilized by youth. The targeted demographic are youth with disabilities/barriers to employment. This position will entail reaching out to youth who are facing challenges with employment related barriers, employment readiness skill development and public/employer awareness activities. Networking with Youth, communities, MD’s, businesses, and other stakeholders will be essential to the success of the project.

Promotions Relations Duties:
• Identify opportunities to engage youth in conversation designed to solicit opinions, stimulate debates, clarify facts and other activities aimed at enhancing youth employment skills
• Develop and execute strategic marketing and communication plans to build active and sustainable communities for the JOBz program
• Use a wide variety of social media tools/platforms to create and maintain an online presence with youth
• Create, execute and monitor social media campaigns
• Identify the interests and concerns of the youth served by JOBz
• Identify key performance indicators, evaluate the effectiveness of social media platforms and report results to Executive Director
• Write editorials and promotional material and create content for various social media platforms
• Train and advise staff on the use of social media platforms and guidelines
• Audit current use of social media platforms for effectiveness and return on investment

• Manage online discussion forums and respond to web inquiries from the public
• Maintain awareness of social technology and related trends
• Will collaborate with the Foothills SNAPS Employment and Family Support Team
• Knowledge and education on workplace accommodations and personnel policies
• Ongoing engagement/networking with businesses and communities promoting inclusive practices
• Follow policies and procedures pertaining to FSNAPS organization

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities/barriers is an asset, but not required. Training is provided

• Good oral, written communication and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills including good consultation, training and negotiation skills
• The ability to analyze problems and find practical solutions
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• A desire to keep up with changing technology and social media platforms
• Enjoy gathering, researching and editing information
• Enjoy persuading and influencing people to ensure positive outcomes ie youth

Must have:
• Be able to provide on-site support for students with disabilities in their place of employment
• A good understanding and commitment to community inclusion
• Knowledge of resources available to those with a disability
• Preference given to those who have post-secondary degrees (or extensive experience) in Marketing, information technology, journalism, public relations or communications plus demonstrated experience in:
• Social networks within an organizational and personal context
• Online community building techniques
• Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, experience in assessing skills, problem solving and strong Computer Skills
• Must possess a valid Alberta Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Provide recent Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, Child Intervention Check and references
