The Lyric Theatre
The Great Southwest Shakespeare Festival, produced by The Lyric Theatre, will be held in a great tent at Riverside Park in Swift Current, from July 26 to August 17, 2019.
We are looking for a motivated, creative, energetic, team-oriented Assistant to the Artistic Director and Festival Production Assistant for our inaugural production, A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Researching historical period referenced in the production, including political and social context, fashion, design, and music.
Assisting with presentations to the cast and crew regarding Shakespeare history and context.
Assisting actors with learning lines
Assisting Artistic Director with sound design research
Festival site maintenance, as required
Set design and layout labourer
Assisting with festival tent raising, lowering and maintenance
Member of run crew team assigned to various tasks during rehearsals and performances of the play
Other duties as required of the position
Evening and weekend work will be required
Anticipated start date is May 1, 2019, and will continue for 16 weeks. Please note that this position is subject to funding approval from Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible for this position, applicants must prove that they meet the requirements of Canada Summer Jobs funding.
