About the Role
With a new store opening right around the corner, we are looking for an experienced Supervisor who can handle curve balls like a champ. Not only will the Supervisor be responsible for ensuring the store is in tip-top shape, but they’ll also become masters in everything cannabis and will be eager to share their new knowledge with our awesome customers. We’re looking for a team-centric leader who will work in collaboration with the Store Manager to drive and champion the store’s success. The ideal candidate will enjoy and be able to successfully cultivate relationships with store staff and customers, and leads by example with exemplary service skills, compliance to company and AGLC standards, professionalism and a visible passion for the cannabis industry!
Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greet customers upon entrance; engage in conversation and build a relationship to understand specific needs
Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge; staying up to date with industry legislation, trends and new products
Educate customers about cannabis products, strains and consumption methods
Day to Day Operations
Promote our culture and brand by participating in merchandising and promotional activities.
Perform supervisory duties; and where necessary, fill in as Acting Manager in the absence of the Store Manager.
Support staff development by answering questions and providing feedback related to the successful performance of their job duties.
Acts as a role model and assists in the onboarding, training and development of new Customer Experience Representatives.
Creating and maintaining a welcoming and positive atmosphere for everyone in the store.
Promote a strong sales and customer service culture.
Complete customer transactions on the POS system and adhere to all cash and Loss Prevention procedures.
Monitor inventory and re-stock product regularly.
Participate in routine store maintenance and ensure cleanliness is a priority.
Complete end of day till reports and open and close location while adhering to all policies and procedures.
Assist with store’s opening and closing procedures
Comply with all OH&S (Occupational, Health, and Safety) policies and procedures.
Support and promote Alcanna’s and AGLC’s (Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission) social responsibility programs.
Comply with Alcanna policies, standard operating procedures, and practices.
Promotes and helps ensure compliance from the Customer Experience Representatives with
Alcanna’s policies and procedures, as well as AGLC’s regulatory requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience in retail and/or hospitality, preferably in cannabis, liquor and/or healthcare.
Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience.
High School Diploma or Post-Secondary education preferred.
Must have valid SellSafe certification or be willing to obtain it.
Must complete and pass a Criminal Record Check.
Must submit a QCW (Qualified Cannabis Worker) application to AGLC (Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission) and obtain approval to work in cannabis.
Strong working knowledge of regulations as it pertains to selling cannabis in Alberta.

Team Leader who is passionate about supporting the overall success of the business.
Uphold ethics, confidentiality, and demonstrate a high level of discretion at all times.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule including evenings and weekends.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have reliable transportation.
