Youth Program Facilitator - term position - summer students

Position: Youth Program Facilitator (Summer Student)
Duration: July and August 2024 (9 weeks)
Hours: 20-35 hours per week

Summary of Position:
Under the guidance of the SYEP Coordinator and in collaboration with other staff members, the Youth Program Facilitators will assist in planning, organizing, and executing activities for the Summer Youth Engagement Program (SYEP) while providing support in office administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
--Familiarity with PLLC and its programs
--Dedication to supporting the growth and development of children and youth
--Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups in a culturally sensitive manner
--Strong interpersonal, facilitation, verbal, and written communication skills
--Self-motivated with leadership capabilities and the ability to work independently
--Proficient in time management and teamwork
--Patience and enjoyment in working with youth
--Previous leadership experience preferred
--Adaptability to new and challenging situations
--Basic office administration skills, including organization and technical proficiency
--Competent in computer skills, including internet browsing and Microsoft Office
--Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains confidentiality
--Possession of a valid MB driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset but not required
--First Aid/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain upon employment)
--Completion of Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required

Wage: $15.50 to $17.50 per hour, commensurate with experience
